Oregonians For Immigration Reform members and supporters:

One of the big lies that the pro-illegal alien lobby puts out is that illegal aliens commit fewer crimes than the general American population. Nothing could be further from the truth. Put aside for the moment that all illegal aliens by definition are criminals. Just look at the percentage of illegal aliens that have committed additional crimes.

There are currently 101 Foreign National criminal aliens incarcerated at the Washington County Jail in Hillsboro, Oregon. They are incarcerated for various crimes and have Federal Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Holds placed on them. Almost 18% of the jail population at the Washington County jail is comprised of illegal aliens.

Of the 572 inmates incarcerated at the Washington County Jail, the 101 Foreign National criminal aliens make up 17.66% of the June 17, 2009 jail population. At an estimated cost of $90 per day per inmate, the yearly cost to Washington County taxpayers is over $3 million dollars.

The $3 million dollars does not include the cost of housing illegal aliens at the State Penitentiary. That cost exceeds $38 million dollars per year.

Last week we sent out a report of the illegal aliens incarcerated in Marion County Jail. There were 80 inmates with ICE holds constituting about 15 % of the jail population at a cost of over $ 2.7 million per year.

There is no way of course determining the human cost to American citizens for crimes committed to them by illegal aliens in the community.

Below is just one of the numerous recent reports of crimes committed this week alone in Washington County by a suspected illegal alien.
When will our elected officials begin to notice the pattern?

BEAVERTON, Ore. – An alleged drunk driver left a wide swath of damage and destruction near Beaverton early Tuesday morning, according to police and local residents.

It was one of two alleged drunk driving incidents involving vehicles hitting homes. No one in the homes was reportedly injured.

The first car smashed into other vehicles, mailboxes, fences and a garage before becoming high-centered in a neighborhood on Butner Court near Beaverton. Even then, a local man awakened by the commotion said the driver was still trying to drive away.

Brian Fahrner’s rented home bore the brunt of much of the damage. His mailbox was flattened, the garage was damaged and his cars were all hit.

Fahrner said he came out to find the car high-centered and took the keys from the driver as the driver reportedly tried to restart the vehicle while neighbors gathered around. He said he told the driver to stay in the car until authorities arrived.

Deputies took the driver into custody a short time later. Daniel Cruz-Estrada, 31, was charged with drunken and reckless driving, hit and run and criminal mischief. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had also placed a hold on him, meaning he will likely only be released from the jail into the custody of ICE.

Fahrner said the whole house shook from the impact.

Meanwhile, police said another alleged drunk driver left the road in northeast Portland Tuesday night and slammed an SUV squarely into the garage of a home near the intersection of Northeast 93rd and Glisan, doing massive damage.

No injuries at that location were reported. The driver there was also taken into custody.
