Please attend a town hall meeting with Congressman Jared Polis this Saturday morning. Why? To bring to the forefront the fact that Obamacare will give taxpayer-subsidized coverage to illegal aliens.

Where:

Rancho Liborio Grocery Store, 850 East 88th Avenue, Thornton, CO 80229

This is on 88th Ave, just East of Washington.

Saturday, September 5th, 10:00 - 11:30 AM

How to get there: take I25 to Thronton Pkwy or to 84th Ave. Then go East to Washington. Then take Washington a few blocks to 88th Ave. Then go East a half block. See this map.

This is in illegal alien country. However, you will not be alone - other groups are also attending in order to address the issue of free health care for illegal aliens. Please do attend - it is important to establish a strong presence on this issue.

From Jared Polis's website: Immigration issues:

"Since our founding, the United States has been a beacon of hope for immigrants. We have welcomed people like my great-grandparents, who came to our shores in search of religious freedom and the opportunity for a better life for their family. It is our immigrant experience and our diversity as a nation that has set us apart, making America the land of innovation as well as the land of opportunity.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform [code for amnesty for illegal aliens]

I believe that our current immigration system is broken and the need for reform has never been so great. In 2007, the U.S. Senate came close to passing much-needed comprehensive immigration reform [amnesty]. While we still may not agree on each individual provision, we have now seen the consequences of inaction. Shortly after partisan bickering derailed comprehensive immigration reform at the federal level [in fact, the sovereign American people defeated amnesty for illegal aliens], Colorado was forced to confront the challenges of immigration at the state level.

Both as a member of the Colorado Board of Education and as a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, I spoke out against Colorado House Bill 1023, which restricted most non-emergency services for undocumented immigrants [illegal aliens] and empowered local law enforcement to enforce federal immigration law at a state level. As a member of Congress, however, I recognize that in the absence of comprehensive immigration reform [amnesty], state and local governments may feel compelled to act in place of the federal government...."

Folks, don't let your elected public servants try to pull the wool over your eyes. Hold Polis accountable at Saturday's town hall meeting. Remember, democracy is not a spectator sport. We defeated the Kennedy - McCain amnesty last session and we will defeat taxpayer subsidized health care for illegal aliens now.

Background information:

From a recent FAIR press release: on August 26, the Congressional Research Service (CRS), the "research arm" for the United States Congress, issued a report validating an analysis by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), that illegal aliens would be able to receive benefits under the House health care reform bill, America's Affordable Health Care Act of 2009 (H.R. 3200).

The report, Treatment of Noncitizens in H.R. 3200, issued Tuesday, states definitively, "H.R. 3200 does not contain any restrictions on noncitizens - whether legally or illegally present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently - participating in the Exchange." H.R. 3200 establishes a Health Insurance Exchange which would provide individuals and small businesses with access to health care plans, including the "public option" to be managed by the government.

CRS also confirms FAIR's assessment that the House bill does not include a mechanism to prevent illegal aliens from receiving "affordability credits" that would subsidize the purchase of private health insurance. CRS specifically noted the absence "of a provision in the bill specifying the verification procedure," Because the language is ambiguous, all CRS could reasonably conclude is that any eligibility determination would be the responsibility of the Health Choices Commissioner.

The CRS analysis comes after weeks of denials by Members of Congress and the mainstream media that illegal aliens could receive benefits under the House bill. These denials were echoed by countless media and health care "experts" who dismissed public concerns as myths, or as politically orchestrated attacks.

"Case closed. Illegal aliens will be eligible to participate in the health care program offered by the House bill unless Congress acts to amend the bill," stated Dan Stein, president of FAIR. "In fact, according to CRS's analysis, the loopholes in the House bill are so gaping that Mexican and Canadian citizens could participate in the proposed health insurance Exchange.

"The loopholes and omissions in the House bill are not there by accident," continued Stein. "These loopholes were deliberate and intended to extend benefits to illegal aliens, while allowing Members of Congress to deny those facts to the American people."

The House Ways & Means Committee had the opportunity to include language that would have barred illegal aliens from enrolling in the proposed public option or receiving the affordability credits, but chose not to. An amendment offered by Rep. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) would have applied the same eligibility verification procedures for coverage under H.R. 3200 that have been used for years to prove eligibility for Medicaid. That amendment was rejected by a party-line vote.
