La RAZA - an intercepted message!
La Raza has begun a campaign to notify and to muster up the masses to contact their congressional representative (kind of curious, since La Raza represents the masses of ILLEGAL ALIENS) to SAVE THE FOOD STAMP WELFARE PROGRAM.

Below is an intercepted communication from their action list. I suggest we contact our representatives to COUNTER THIS / THEIR continued and progressive raping of the AMERICAN TAX PAYERS!

NCLR Alert: Food Stamp Program Endangered
Help Protect the Food Stamp Program Take Action!
Take Action Now – Federal Budget Alert # 1
There is limited time to act! Low-income Latino families will lose access to food assistance if the Food Stamps program is cut.

Earlier this year, Congress voted to cut $3 billion from agriculture and nutrition programs. In early September, Members of Congress will consider proposals to cut funding for programs, such as the Food Stamp program. Since more than one in five Latino households experience food insecurity, cuts in food stamps will disproportionately impact the Latino community. Further, some legislators have even raised the possibility of once again targeting legal immigrants for food stamp cuts, as they did during the 1996 welfare reform.

Please contact your Members of Congress to urge their support for full funding of the Food Stamp program and protection of food stamps for immigrants. Write your legislator by simply modifying the model letter (linked in this alert) to create your own message. Please feel free to insert a story that personalizes the reasons why this program is important to your community.

Note: Senator Barbara Boxer’s (D-CA) web-based email will be down until after Labor Day 2005. Please make sure to call her urging her support for the Food Stamp Program. Her Washington, DC telephone number is (202) 224-3533.
