Who Funds the ACLU

We have received many requests to identify who supports and donates to the ACLU. We are pleased to bring you this information. It is not comprehensive by any means but it is a start. And we will update this page as we have time and documentation to do so.

Keep in mind that there are many ACLU backed groups out there whose information is guarded and thus unavailable. We are providing the details of what we know is factual.

We will also soon be providing a separate page for ACLU lawyers and affiliate attorneys. It will detail who is who by state.

Accordingly, if you need a good lawyer and the one you intend to use is on that page, we will encourage you to write or call that lawyer and inform him or her that because of their ties to the ACLU, that you will decline to use their services and tell others to do the same.

The information is listed in no particular order, though if warranted, we will revise it as needed.

A great source for viewing a concise yet detailed list of various group ties with the ACLU, financial and not, is the ACLU page at Discover the Networks.

Keep in mind that the major homosexual groups like the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force, the Human Rights Campaign and Lambda Legal as well as pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood, National Organization of Women, NARAL and the Center for Reproductive Law & Policy all do business with the ACLU in some form or other. Pornographers like Hugh Hefner and Larry Flynt also give to the ACLU.
