    $245,867 cash seized OUTBOUND

    C.B.P. News Release

    CBP Seizes Over $200,000 in Undeclared Currency

    (Wednesday, October 13, 2010)

    El Paso, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers conducting southbound operations in cooperation with Border Patrol agents at El Paso area ports of entry seize $245,867 in four southbound currency seizures from leaving the country for the period of Wednesday, October 6, 2010 to Monday Columbus Day.

    In addition to the currency seizures CBP officers made ten marijuana busts for a total of 672.23 pounds for the period.

    CBP officers working outbound operations at the Ysleta Bridge discovered four bundles containing $86,235 and one bag containing 34.1 grams of cocaine hidden in the battery on Thursday, October 7, 2010.

    There was a BOLO on the weekend for a vehicle from South Carolina that a large quantity of cash in it that was in the process of being taken to the Honduras.

    Anyone watch "Border Wars" on the National Geographic channel? This show was originally on one of the 3 major networks before it was quickly taken off the lineup, and I recently discovered it moved to Nat'l Geo.

    Great show that included the port of entry mentioned in this article. The brave men and women have a lot going against them!! For all the cars they do find drugs and money in, I'm sure there are a lot more that slip through.

    I do and now they don't even show anything down on the borders of Nogales Arizona..and etc...
