A North Carolina school district is canceling a Hamlet high school’s yearbook after administrators noticed several senior quotes, including a President Trump campaign slogan, that were deemed inappropriate.

“‘Build that Wall’ - Donald Trump,” one female student’s quote read, according to a photo of the yearbook published by The News & Observer.

School district spokeswoman Ashley-Michelle Thublin said it was that quote and several others that make it into the Richmond Early College High School yearbook that were considered too controversial, The Associated Press reported.

A photo of the “build that wall” quote circulated on social media, with some users accusing it of being racist and offensive to minority students.

“As a district, we do not and will not tolerate inappropriate conduct toward any of our students,” Richmond County Schools said in a statement Thursday. “In each situation, our goal is to provide for the well-being of all of our students and prevent recurrences of inappropriate conduct.”

Students who pre-ordered the yearbooks are being refunded and the handful of yearbooks that were already distributed have been recalled, Ms. Thublin told The News & Observer. There is not enough time to reprint the yearbooks before school lets out for the summer on May 18, so students will have to go without this year, the spokeswoman said.

None of the students responsible for the quotes will be disciplined, she said.

Wow. Why would "build that wall" be racist or offensive? We are losing our country because of these illegal aliens. It's all about them, not US, not our children, not our rights, not our free speech, just all about illegal aliens and their "feelings".

I have a feeling this will all backfire on the school somewhere down the line. Students have always been allowed to make a statement, the students could choose to publish their own yearbook outside of the school allowing more freedom and the school would loose their share of the money created from the year book sales. The students could also refuse to purchase the sensored year book next year and so on. There are ways around all this; if they make the wrong people mad enough, they will find a solution. To bad it is to late for these kids this year.
