‘Stash Houses’ Keep Law Enforcement Busy as Illegals Hide in Texas Towns
‘Stash Houses’ Keep Law Enforcement Busy as Illegals Hide in Texas Towns
Residential homes in border towns are becoming hideouts for those who have unlawfully entered the U.S.

More and more illegal immigrants are evading deportation and arrest by hiding out in American neighborhoods near the U.S.-Mexican border.
Concealing themselves near law-abiding Americans who work hard to raise good families, these illegals are stressing law enforcement resources and endangering communities — endangering themselves, too, often going without necessities, like adequate food and water.
U.S. Border Patrol agents, working with Hidalgo County constables, found 62 undocumented immigrants hidden inside a “stash house” in Edinburg, Texas, on Wednesday of this week, resulting in the apprehension of 62 undocumented immigrants, Fox 29 in San Antonio reported.
Agents say the illegals — including children who crossed the border alone — were from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.
And Border Patrol and the Webb County Sheriff’s Office discovered nearly two dozen undocumented immigrants living in a stash house in central Laredo, Texas, on Wednesday, station KGNS reported.
Laredo Sector Acting Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Anthony S. Good said, “This enforcement action demonstrates the United States Border Patrol's commitment to work with the Webb County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement partners to disrupt illicit activity, deny criminal organizations the ability to operate, and protect human life.”
Fifty-four undocumented immigrants were also found in South Texas on Tuesday, June 21, during two separate stash house raids.
U.S. Border Patrol agents coordinated with Hidalgo County constables to identify and disrupt the stash house within mere hours.
One such stash house was located in Mission, Texas, where 26 illegals were arrested. The second stash house was identified in Alamo, Texas, where 28 illegal aliens were discovered, the Laredo Morning Times reported.
The subjects were determined to be from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. Federal authorities confirmed that all subjects were offered medical assistance and were processed through the system.
Back on June 14, authorities found 47 immigrants in a suspected stash house in Eagle Pass, Texas, news station KSAT reported.
The immigrants were found after the Eagle Pass Police Department identified the stash house operating out of a residence, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Border Patrol agents also found 12 illegal immigrants earlier that day. Three U.S. citizens were arrested on federal human smuggling charges.
