‘We Don’t Have Any’ Problem of Illegal Immigrants Voting in U.S., Dem Congressmen Say

    By Thomas Cloud
    February 24, 2012

(CNSNews.com) - Two congressional Democrats who oppose tougher voter ID and voter registration laws told CNSNews.com that such laws are not needed because, they claim, documented voter fraud by illegal aliens is nonexistent.

At a discussion panel on voter identification (ID) laws held at the U.S. Capitol on Feb. 17, CNSNews.com asked Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.): “What should be done in regards to illegal immigrants voting?”

Lewis replied, “I don’t know of any. I don’t know of any case in any -- in Georgia, in Alabama, in North Carolina, Mississippi or any parts of America -- that some illegal person, some person who’s not a citizen had cast a vote and I just think that’s a lot of say-and-do about nothing. That’s not happening.”

Lewis also said voter ID laws, or proof of citizenship laws make it harder to restore voting rights to people that paid their debts to society.

“These laws are barriers to an all-inclusive democracy," Lewis said "They are a disgrace and a shame. We continue to step backward toward another dark time in our history.”

Following the same event, CNSNews.com also asked Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver II (D-Mo.) -- “In your opinion is there anything that should be done to prevent, say illegal immigrants from voting?”

Cleaver, as well, said there are no illegal aliens voting in the U.S.

“We don’t have any, we don’t have any problems of illegal immigrants voting in this country,” Cleaver told CNSNews.com. “And in the last 10 years we’ve had something like 13 cases of voter fraud in the 50 states of the United States of America.”

While tracking illegal immigrant voting is difficult, according to a report issued by the Commission on Federal Election Reform in 2005, the Justice Department has conducted more than 180 investigations into election fraud since October of 2002. Federal prosecutors have charged 89 individuals and convicted 52 for election-fraud offenses, including giving false voter-registration information.

The report also noted that in 2000, random checks by the Honolulu city clerk’s office found 200 registered voters who admitted they were not U.S. citizens. And in 2004, at least 35 foreign citizens applied for and received voter cards in Harris County, Texas, the report noted.

The bipartisan blue-ribbon commission, which was chaired by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker, recommended laws that require voters to show a photo ID before voting – aa recommendation that came before the federal REAL ID law was created.

Recent events also suggest at least the strong possibility of non-citizens voting.

In 2011, Colorado’s secretary of state found by comparing drivers’ licenses that Colorado had potentially as many as 16,270 non-citizens on its voting rolls.

In 2007, the Dallas Morning News ran a piece titled “Non-citizens likely voted in Bexar County” which explained how 330 non-citizens were discovered on voting rolls after they were summoned for jury duty.

The 2004 Washington State gubernatorial election was decided by 133 votes while 1,678 illegal votes, mostly by felons, were cast. The election was upheld because there was no accurate way to determine which candidate was the recipient of the illegal votes.

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, currently 31 states require some form of identification to vote, with eight having strict photo ID requirements. Another 29 states have no ID requirement to vote.

Court cases will likely continue over voter ID laws, which opponents like Lewis and Cleaver argue are often unconstitutional.

In 2008, the U.S. Supreme Court in Crawford v. Marion County Election Board upheld Indiana’s voter ID law which requires government issued photo ID. To be constitutional, voter ID laws have to follow the 24th amendment, which prohibits a poll tax.

Reps. Lewis and Cleaver were joined by Reps. John Conyers (D-Mich.) and Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas), in a voting rights panel that also included the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the American Civil Liberties Union, the William Kellibrew Foundation, the Advancement Project, the American Association of People with Disabilities, and the George Soros-funded Brennan Center for Justice.

Excuse me? Did he complete the news that the Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper did a study using jury duty dismissal records compared to the voter file and found a lot of non US citizens and illegal immigrants registering to vote in elections?????

We need to find copies of those reports here in the ALIPAC archives and bombard that liar John Lewis's offices with copies of the reports.

oh wait, isnt this the same Congress Clown that claimed a large mob of Tea Party protesters where chanting the N word at him DC as he walked near them? Despite the fact that every footstep he took was being filmed by hundreds of media and personal video and audio recorders at the time, even a one million dollar reward offered by Andrew Breitbart has FAILED TO FIND ONE SHRED OF EVIDENCE TO BACK UP THE CLAIM.

Is this the same person Im thinking of or am I mistaken here?

Cleaver, as well, said there are no illegal aliens voting in the U.S.
I believe him, just like I believe there are NO ILLEGAL ALIENS IN THE USA.

Media Lying About Racist Attacks on Black Reps By Tea Party Protesters… VIDEO PROOF

Posted by Jim Hoft on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 11:36 PM

    It’s come to this…
The state-run media is now pushing their anti-tea party propaganda from sources at the anti-military Jew-hating conservative-hating Huffington Post. And, they’re reporting this propaganda without a single piece of evidence.

On Saturday the media reported without a shred of evidence that tea party protesters were shouting obscenities and “n***er” at black Representatives on Capitol Hill. The representatives said it happened as they walked from the Longworth office building to the Rayburn office building.

The Huffington Post is concerned that those conservative, church-going, taxpaying tea party protesters are using words like “slaughter” on their signs.

This McClatchy News story was one of the top articles on Yahoo on Saturday Night:
Tea party protesters use racial epithet against Georgia’s John Lewis
Demonstrators outside the U.S. Capitol , angry over the proposed health care bill, shouted “******” Saturday at U.S. Rep. John Lewis , a Georgia congressman and civil rights icon who was nearly beaten to death during an Alabama march in the 1960s.

The protesters also shouted obscenities at other members of the Congressional Black Caucus , lawmakers said.
“They were shouting, sort of harassing,” Lewis said. “But, it’s okay, I’ve faced this before. It reminded me of the 60s. It was a lot of downright hate and anger and people being downright mean.”

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver , D- Mo. , said he was a few yards behind Lewis and distinctly heard “******.”

“It was a chorus,” Cleaver said. “In a way, I feel sorry for those people who are doing this nasty stuff – they’re being whipped up. I decided I wouldn’t be angry with any of them.”
Protestors also used a slur as they confronted Rep. Barney Frank , D- Mass. , an openly gay member of Congress . A writer for Huffington Post said the crowd called Frank a “faggot.”
    But, look at this…
Here’s video proof that these horrible leftists are liars:

Since this video was first posted. John Lewis and the Congressional Black Caucus have claimed they were called racial slurs by Tea Party members opposed to Obamacare.

As you can see in this video, there is no evidence of the so-called "N-word" or any other slur being used, despite the claims of the CBC and their lapdogs at CNN, NBC, MSNBC, See BS.

Will the media ignore the fact that among the Tea Partiers were people of all races? Probably not. Here's the proof.

No one screamed “n***er.” No one screamed “f*ggot.” No one was spit on.
Do you suppose the state-run media will correct their propaganda piece now?
Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver says he will not press charges for being spit on. That’s probably a good idea.
REMEMBER: These radical liars with stop at nothing to ram their socialist agenda down America’s throat. And, the state-run media will report their racist filth without question.

    Andre Carson’s True Colors

    by Larry O'Connor

By now we’ve all heard the reprehensible remarks made by Congressional Black Caucus Whip Andre Carson (D-IN) where he told the audience at a CBC Jobs Fair Town Hall in Miami that Tea Party Congressmen would like to lynch black people. Given the opportunity to revise or retract his remarks, Carson instead stood by “the truth” of his comments.

So now it seems pretty fair to say that Andre Carson is a race-baiting bigot who has brought shame upon the U. S. House of Representatives. But any regular reader of Big Government knows that this is not new information. In fact, Andre Carson’s despicable, divisive slander of August 22nd is just the latest of bogus attacks made by the 2nd term congressman against the Tea Party.

Andre Carson is the man who told the mother of all race-baiting lies against the Tea Party: That racial slurs were screamed “fifteen times” at he and Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) in Washington DC on the day before the ObamaCare vote in 2010.

The headlines at the time (as well as Topic #1 on cable news and Sunday talk shows) was “Racist Tea Party Yells ‘N-Word’ at Civil Rights Icon John Lewis”. Andre Carson’s name was hardly mentioned in any of the stories. But a Big Government investigation revealed that it was he, in fact, who gathered Capitol Hill reporters around himself on March 20, 2010 and breathlessly told them what had happened “outside of Cannon (Congressional Office Building)” just moments before. (audio courtesy Kerry Pickett, Washington Times)

By now you know the story become part of Democratic Party lore showing up in talking points as recently as just last week as Alan Colmes mangled the “facts” but still was able to perpetuate the lie on Fox News’ “O’Reilly Factor”. You should also know by now that Andrew Breitbart offered a $100, 000 reward for anyone who can produce video proof o the supposed racial hatred. The only videos uncovered were found by the Big Government staff. They show the exact moment Carson described, “down the steps of Cannon”, from four different angles. Not only were there no slurs heard on any of the videos, but the scene is not at all how Carson described it to Capitol Hill reporters.

Just like Carson’s evil lie that Tea Party would like to see blacks “hanging on a tree”, the claim that protestors screamed the “N-Word” at him on March 20th, 2010 is a myth and should be condemned.
So who is this guy? Who is this second-term congressman prone to tell tall-racist-tales against his political opponents?

Andrew Carson is a convert to Islam, thus making him the second Muslim to be elected to the House of Representative, the first being the equally mendacious Keith Ellison (D-MN). Because of this distinction, he is often trotted out by main stream media outlets as the “go-to” expert on political issues related to the Islamic world.

His congressional seat (representing greater Indianapolis) used to be his grandmother’s. Julia Carson held the seat for ten years until her death. Race-baiting anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan spoke at her funeral. When Carson ran for her open seat he refused to denounce Farrakhan or his hateful record.

Breitbart.tv uncovered an interview with Rep. Carson that was conducted before the infamous day in Washington DC. In it he was asked about the greatest threat to America and without hesitation he answered “racism”. This was a fine bit of foreshadowing to his remarks to reporters on Capitol Hill. After vividly describing the scene where he and Rep. Lewis had to withstand Selma revisited, he then educated the reporters by telling them:
REP. CARSON: I’m from intelligence, and I’ll tell you, one of the largest threats to our internal security…I mean terrorism has an Islamic face, but it really comes from racial supremacist groups. (inaudible) Its the kind of thing we keep a threat assessment on record [for].
    PICKET: From groups like this?

    REP. CARSON: Oh absolutely.
    [/QUOTE]

So let’s review what we’ve learned about Rep. Andre Carson:
    • He inherited his seat from his grandmother who was close to Louis Farrakhan
    • He has refused to denounce Farrakhan
    • He went on record early in his congressional career to say that racism was one of the greatest threats to our country
    • He told reporters that Tea Party protesters screamed racial slurs at him even though video of the event belies this as well as overwhelming number of eyewitness accounts (including a GOP congressman walking right behind him at the time of the alleged event)
    • He equated the Tea Party with racial supremacist groups and said they were a bigger threat to our country than Islamic terror
    • He told a gathering of black voters that Tea Party congressmen would like to lynch them
Many reporters who were questioned about why they took Carson’s word for it that day in March 2010, and ran the story as fact without trying to verify his account said that Carson had always been a quiet unassuming congressman, not prone to over-the-top hyperbole or over-heated rhetoric. In light of Carson’s recent remarks it might be time for these reporters to re-think that assessment, and re-visit the “N-Word” story.

    NBC2 Investigates: Voter fraud
Two elections supervisors are taking action after an NBC2 investigation uncovers flawed record keeping and human error allowing people who are not citizens of the United States to vote.

No one knows how widespread this problem is, because county election supervisors have no way to track non-citizens who live here.

So NBC2 did something election officials never thought to do, and found them on our own.

"I vote every year," Hinako Dennett told NBC2.

The Cape Coral resident is not a US citizen, yet she's registered to vote.

NBC2 found Dennett after reviewing her jury excusal form. She told the Clerk of Court she couldn't serve as a juror because she wasn't a U.S. citizen.

We found her name, and nearly a hundred others like her, in the database of Florida registered voters.

Naples resident Yvonne Wigglesworth is also a not a citizen, but is registered to vote. She claims she doesn't know how she got registered.

"I have no idea. I mean, how am I supposed to know."

Records show Wigglesworth voted six times in elections dating back eleven years.

"I know you cannot vote before you become a citizen, so I never tried to do anything like that," Samuel Lincoln said.

He isn't a U.S. citizen either, but the Jamaican national says he doesn't know how he ended up registered to vote.

"It's their mistake, not mine," said Lincoln.

We obtained a copy of his 2007 voter registration application. It's clearly shows he marked U.S. citizen.

"This is under oath, that document, they are attesting that it is true and by falsifying, it's a third degree felony," said Tim Durham, Collier County's chief elections supervisor.

County supervisors of elections tell me they have no way to verify citizenship. Under the 1992 Motor Voter Law, they're not required to ask for proof.

"We have no policing authority. We don't have any way of bouncing that information off any other database that would give us that information," said Lee County Supervisor of Elections Sharon Harrington.

NBC2: Does that need to change??
Harrington: "I think it needs to be looked at."

Until that happens, the only way supervisors of elections can investigate voter fraud is if they get a tip.

So that's what our list became. After showing them the nearly 100 names we compiled, both county election offices sent letters to each voter, asking them verify citizenship.

"It could be very serious. It could change the whole complexion of an election," said Harrington.
It's important we don't know we know if these folks are here illegal or not, just they are potentially not U.S. citizens who registered to vote.

Voters who received letters have 30 days to show proof of citizenship, or they'll be taken off the registration rolls.

Based on our investigation, both election offices say they'll now request a copy of every jury excusal form where residents say they can't serve because they're not a citizen.

Part 1 NBC2 Investigates: Voter fraud - NBC-2.com WBBH News for Fort Myers, Cape Coral & Naples, Florida

    LEE COUNTY -
Poor record keeping is what's leading to potential fraud in the elections system. And election supervisors say registering non-citizens will continue until they get more help.

Officials we spoke to say non U.S. citizens are voting in Lee and Collier counties.

"If there is a change by one vote and somebody's voted that really has no right to be voting," said Lee County Supervisor of Elections Sharon Harrington.

Nearly 100 registered are now under investigation for possible voter fraud.

"It could change the whole complexion of an election," Harrington said.

We found those 100 people after reviewing jury excusal forms. We compared the names of those who said they couldn't serve because they were not U.S. citizens to those listed on Florida's voter registration rolls.

"I was surprised that there were quite that many," Harrington said.

    So how is this happening?

In some cases, human error got them on the voter rolls.

We found one Naples resident, who clearly marked she was not a U.S. citizen, but was registered anyway.

But the NBC2 Investigators also found many of those registered were signed up while at the Tax Collector's Office getting a drivers license.

We asked Susan Allen, the Lee County Tax Collector's Office Customer Service Director, if the system was just based on trust and she answered, "Definitely.

Up until two years ago, no one asked for proof of citizenship.

Allen: You're either giving us the birth certificate, a us passport or your naturalization document.

NBC2: So, it's a lot harder now to lie?

    Allen: Definitely.

It may be harder now. But since you only have to renew your license every eight years, it'll take another six to weed out all the non-citizens.

Harrington says what we really need is a national verification system.

"We don't have any investigative powers or anyway to check this information. As we're checking them into our system, it would be nice to have that," she said.

We took that concern to Florida U.S. Senator Bill Nelson.

"So, there is the opportunity to verify, through the social security number when they register and that should be a way of doing it," he said.

But Harrington says that's not good enough because voters can register without a social security number - leaving the potential for abuse for years to come.

Based on our investigation, both election offices say they'll now request copies of every jury excusal form where residents say they can't serve because they're not a citizen.

Both the Lee and Collier supervisors of elections sent letters to the people we found asking them to verify citizenship.

We should have an update on that in a few weeks.

While we only looked at Southwest Florida two largest counties, this absolutely affects other counties in the state.

And we're told the state is looking into implementing a similar policy to compare jury excusal forms with voter rolls at all supervisor of elections offices.

The video are a must watch!!!!
