Arpaio Believes Romney Still has Chance
Arpaio Believes Romney Still has Chance

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been campaigning hard for Mitt Romney to win the Republican presidential nomination and he was optimistic Monday, although polls showed Sen. John McCain with a commanding lead in Arizona.
``I'm sure Mitt Romney will get his home state, Massachusetts, so it's not over until it's over, regardless of who wins in Arizona," Arpaio said.
He said Romney's position depends on which polls you read, that the former Massachusetts governor is looking pretty good in delegate-rich California.
As for who he will back if Romney is not the GOP nominee, Arpaio said, ``That's a little premature to say I'm supporting anybody. It won't be a Democrat."
He stopped short of saying that he would support McCain.
