1,200 National Guard troops to be deployed to border

    Posted - 5/25/2010 at 2:24PM

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords Tuesday announced the White House has agreed to her requests to deploy National Guard troops to the U.S. border with Mexico.

Giffords called for the Guard's deployment immediately after the March 27, 2010, murder of Cochise County rancher Rob Krentz.

Tuesday afternoon, President Obama is expected to authorize the deployment of up to 1,200 National Guard troops to southwest border. He is also expected to request that $500 million be included in supplemental spending legislation for enhanced border protection and law enforcement activities.

I think we need more like 12.000, but 1200 is a good start. At least they are sending SOMEONE TO DEFEND THE BORDER. The change is attitude is good news though. But I think the 1200 troops should be considered the first wave of many more to be sent.

    DEPORT ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS

Questions: 1) Is this just temporary? 2) For how long will the troops stay in that area? 3) Is this just to grant amnesty to illegal aliens?

Just as long as they have the power needed to do the job properly. We don't need to see any of them getting arrested for doing their job like the Border Patrol Agents who were.
