El Paso CBP Seizes More than 1 Ton of Marijuana over Memorial Day Weekend

EL Paso, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at area ports of entry seized 2,303 pounds of marijuana in a dozen drug seizures during the Memorial Day weekend. The largest seizure of the weekend occurred at the Bridge of the Americas commercial cargo lot at the El Paso port of entry where CBP officers seized 1,544 pounds of marijuana in a single incident.

1,544 pounds of marijuana were found hidden in a 2008 Kenworth box truck transporting a shipment of plastic waste.
