IMMIGRATION BILL CALLS FOR
10-year phase-out of guest worker program
But allows five-year visa, status adjustment for eligible workers

The proposed CNMI immigration bill allows the issuance of a five-year nonimmigrant visa to eligible long-term nonresident workers one year after its enactment.

At the same time, the bill allows family-sponsorship immigrant visa and employment-based visa, which grants aliens a chance to adjust their status into “a lawful permanent resident of the United States.â€
