108 illegal immigrants in Phoenix drop house


U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials say 108 illegal immigrants have been discovered in a drop house in west Phoenix and some may be human smugglers.

The drop house was discovered Wednesday near 91st Avenue and Encanto Boulevard.

ICE spokesman Vincent Picard says among the people found in the drop house were five teenage boys and 14 women.

He says the illegal immigrants came from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

The Arizona Republic says authorities received a tip about 10:30 a.m. about suspicious activity around the home.

Authorities suspected the vehicles were bringing in loads of illegal immigrants.
