A Guadalajara man doesn't know when he'll see his family again. His attempt to be reunited with them was stopped today. He paid smugglers to get him into the United States, but things didn't go as planned.

This man was one of three illegal immigrants arrested by La Grulla police today. They were turned over to Border Patrol. Police say they were part of a larger group sneaking into the United States.

"All I want is to be with my family."

He gave us only his first name, Sergio. Through tears, he told his story.

"I want to be here in the United States to have my sons good and healthy, so they could eat. Do you understand? But for me it's sad," says Sergio.

Sergio is a Mexican national. He says he came to the United States from Mexico for a better life. He got married, had children. He spent years working odd jobs for cash.

"I was here for 22 years and never got in trouble with the police," says Sergio.

Just months ago, his worst nightmare became reality.

"A racist cop caught me and put me in immigration," says Sergio.

It's his version of the story. Still he knows the greater truth. He was deported because he was here illegally.

"I want to be here because of my family, because they need me," says Sergio.

Sergio says he paid a human smuggler $4,000 to get him into the United States. He was taken across the border into the Valley along with more than a dozen other illegals. The trip ended in La Grulla.

They were in this car when police say an officer tried to pull them over for an expired license plate. The driver took off. Only three of the illegals, including Sergio, were caught. The rest got away.

"If they try and deport me again, I will cross again. I am going to try," says Sergio.

La Grulla police turned Sergio over to Border Patrol. He says nothing will stop him from trying to get to Wisconsin again.

Tonight, Sergio may already be back in Mexico. Border Patrol spokesperson Rosie Huey says once an illegal is taken into custody it could take only hours before they are sent back.

Yeah well so do our jobless citizens. You want to be with your family? Send them back to your own country and let your own country take care of you all. We have unemployed people, homeless people...what makes your story any sadder than our own???? Your worried about your sons eating yet have 4,000 to pay smugglers? You wern't poor to begin with!

"If they try and deport me again, I will cross again. I am going to try," says Sergio.

I hope next time you end up in jail before they send you back.

"I want to be here because of my family, because they need me," says Sergio.

Then take them with you to your own country where you belong.

"I was here for 22 years and never got in trouble with the police," says Sergio

You broke the law and got away with it for 22 years!!!!! In all that time you never tried for citizenship? You risked being seperated from your family. Was it worth it?

"Sergio is a Mexican national. He says he came to the United States from Mexico for a better life."

You and millions of other people who have displaced our citizens in the workforce and ignore our laws. You shove your way to the head of the line and expect to have a happy little life while millions of citizens are struggling and falling through the cracks?
