SAN DIEGO (CBS - Eleven people were rescued Tuesday morning from a disabled boat off the coast of Point Loma.

Coast Guards reportedly received a distress call from a Spanish-speaking woman, who said she was on a small boat with 10 other people.

She told authorities the boat had lost engine power on it's way from Mexico, and was drifting further from shore.

Border Patrol agents eventually found the group.

Eight men and three women on board were taken into custody.

    No one was hurt.

SAN DIEGO — Eleven people onboard a disabled boat off the coast of Point Loma were rescued early Tuesday after one of the passengers called for help.

The Coast Guard received the 911 call about 2:10 a.m. from a woman who said the boat was coming from Mexico, said Coast Guard Petty Officer Connie Gawrelli.

The caller said that the small white boat had engine trouble and was drifting out to sea, Gawrelli said.

The Coast Guard launched a helicopter and sent a boat and agents with Customs and Border Protection also started a search of the water.

The boat was located about 3:30 a.m. some two to three miles offshore and the eight men and three women onboard were taken into custody.

One of the women was pregnant, the Border Patrol said. She was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

None of the others needed medical attention, Gawrelli said.

The group was turned over to the Border Patrol for processing.
