Is the anchor baby policy sustainable?

Advocates of a stabilized U.S. population recently received an endorsement from three unlikely sources.

Senators John Kyl, Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell, Republican proponents of comprehensive immigration reform, all spoke out against birthright citizenship. The practice allows children born on U.S. soil to become automatic citizens regardless of the immigration status of their mother.

McConnell wants to hold Congressional hearings on whether the policy commonly referred to as “anchor babies,â€

[quote]Said Graham: “People come here to have babies. They come here to drop a child. It’s called ‘drop and leave.’ To have a child in America, they cross the border, they go to the emergency room, have a child, and that child is automatically an American citizen. That shouldn’t be the case. That attracts people here for all the wrong reasons.â€

Granting automatic birthright citizenship to children of illegal aliens is so absurdly stupid and irresponsible, it's really beyond words to describe. It happened for no reason by no one in authority who had any knowledge of the law. It's clerks and paper processors who declare them citizens, not a Congress, not a President, and not a state. It's the most idiotic thing in the world. I can't even come up with the words to describe the ignorant uninformed illiteracy that this represents by those who have ever acknowledged it.

Judy,I completely agree with you 100%. I have been sounding the alarm on this since the 1986 amnesty. There Is NO SUCH THING AS BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP for people In this country Illegally It Is completely and totally Insane to say that TWO ILLEGAL ALIEN PARENTS can make and drop an AMERICAN CITIZEN This needs to change NOW,not later

There is a hotel in NY City that offers birth tourism packages for foreign mothers - a room, baby crib and gift package for the anchor baby's mother. The hotel is Turkish owned, so I wonder how many of these mothers have citizen babies in order to make travel to the U.S. easier.

The 14th amendment was drafted to thwart Southern states from denying citizenship to freed slaves and their children. There was no way they could have anticipated the enormous invasion that has occurred because of the failed state status of Mexico and other Latin American countries. Nor could they have fathomed the high birthrate of illegal aliens compared to the citizens and taxpayers.

We did not have a gang problem here until this invasion increase about 10 years ago. Here is a fine example of our anchor children who represent birthright citizenship:

Gang charges for seven in Underground Atlanta stabbing

The man who was stabbed after a melee at Underground Atlanta on Sunday remained in critical but stable condition Monday afternoon, and seven people were charged with attacking him in what police are calling a gang incident.

Eight people were arrested after a melee at Underground Atlanta.

Two people were charged with aggravated assault and six with party to a crime.

The victim was identified by police as Jorge Rosales, 21, of Stone Mountain. He underwent surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital for a wound from a blade that nicked his heart, said Sgt. Curtis Davenport of the Atlanta Police Department.

On Sunday, the victim's chances of survival were iffy enough that homicide investigators were working the case.

The fight occurred in the downstairs shopping and food court while the Peachtree Latino Festival was ongoing at street level. The stabbing apparently stemmed from a "verbal altercation," Davenport said.

Police initially said eight were arrested, but as of Monday only seven were charged in connection with the incident.

Seferino Martinez, 20, of Atlanta, and Mario Mondragon, 20, of Norcross, were each charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy, carrying a concealed weapon and violation of the state's gang statute, Davenport said. Five others were charged with the gang statute violation and with aggravated assault and battery: Jilverto Hernadez, 21, of Atlanta; Santiago Vacquecz, 17, of Atlanta; Omar Carronza, 17, of Atlanta; and two 16-year-olds whose identities were withheld because of their age.

The adults were taken to the Fulton County Jail and the juveniles were released to their parents, Davenport said.

Rosales stopped breathing after the attack and survived because of the intervention of an off-duty Atlanta police officer, Davenport said. The officer performed CPR while awaiting the ambulance and got him breathing again.

Downtown police and off-duty officers who were working security at the festival converged on the scene and detained the suspects, Davenport said. He said investigators assigned to the FBI Gang Task Force helped identify and talk to the suspects and witnesses.
If you click on the article, you will notice that some of those arrested are young girls.

The amnesty of 86 combined with virtually unchecked illegal immigration over the last 25 years, as well as the push for a "diversity and multi-culturism" has resulted in the catastrophe we're now faced with today. Out of control gang violence, illegal invaders and anchor babies galore is the result of this recipe for disaster.
