PHOENIX -- Sgt. Joe Favazzo with Chandler police says officers in the department are in the middle of learning new guidelines involving immigration.
“Investigating a criminal matter where criminal charges are pending, these are times when we need to find out immigration status," Favazzo said.
If an officer pulls someone over for a minor traffic violation, immigration status is never an issue.
