15 illegal immigrants found in Mesa drop house

MESA, AZ - Mesa police say they arrested 15 illegal immigrants in a suspected drop house over the weekend.

Police said Monday that they got a call about a man who had fled from a Mesa home Saturday only to be forced back inside by another man.

When police arrived, they made several announcements outside the home, and a man came to the door.

The man told police that two suspected smugglers were holding about a dozen illegal immigrants against their will at gunpoint in the home.

A SWAT team responded, and 15 illegal immigrants were found in the home. Three were in the attic.

Police weren't able to determine which ones the smugglers are.

The immigrants were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation.
