A judge in Reno has ordered a pair of suspected illegal immigrants to stand trial in January on charges they sold heroin to high school students.

Police say the pair sold the drugs during lunch breaks and after classes at Reno High School for more than a year. One student said he made the purchases on almost a daily basis.

29-year-old Jose Gutierrez and 35-year-old Jose Guadalupe Isiordia-Bermudez are being held without bail by order of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

Police arrested them in April after they found 92 grams of heroin at a west side apartment.

They go to trial in Washoe District Court on Jan. 3 and face up to life in prison if convicted of the heroin trafficking and conspiracy charges.
