PROVO - Two defendants charged in the gang rape of a 15-year-old Provo girl were sentenced to one year in jail after pleading no contest to a lesser crime Monday.

Jose Esequiel Alcantar, 19, and Juan Carlos Guzman, 20, pleaded no contest to attempted forcible sex abuse, a third-degree felony, avoiding aggravated sex assault charges.

Alcantar and Guzman were initially charged for allegedly bringing the victim to the L&L motel in Orem in February, giving her alcohol and having sex with her against her will.

A 15-year-old co-defendant is being prosecuted in juvenile court. A fourth co-defendant, Rodolfo Arnold, Jr., 21, was allegedly last seen in Tucson, Ariz., headed south.

A $100,000 bail warrant was issued for Arnold on July 13.

Judge Steven Hansen ruled the Alcantar and Guzman could be released only for deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

I can't believe this. That 15 year old will live with that attack for the rest of her life and all they got was a year. And one got nothing. I'm sure he is going to offend again.

Yes most likely Dixie and they will be back in the country in no time after being deported to commit the same crime or worse again
