HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- Two Boaz men, both described by authorities as being illegal immigrants, were arrested by federal and local police Wednesday after being indicted for drug charges by a federal grand jury in Huntsville.

Carlos Tabera Gonzalez, 37 and Efran Ramirez Calderon, 34, are charged with conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in Marshall County from 2002 to November 2011, according to an announcement today by U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance and FBI Special Agent in Charge Patrick Maley.

Calderon has also been charged with distributing methampetamine on Feb. 3, 2011 in Marshall County.

According to authorities, officials executed search warrants on two Boaz residences associated with the two men. Approximately two pounds of methamphetamine, three handguns, ammunition, scales and about $13,000 were recovered in the search.
