U.S. Attorney indicts 41 on immigration charges

The U.S. Attorney's Office has indicted 41 people for illegal re-entry into the United States and other immigration-related charges.

Here are the indictments for people in Lincoln and the surrounding area.

Carlos Barrera-Ortega, 29, of Crete, is charged in a five-count indictment with misusing a Social Security card and Nebraska ID card twice in 2005 to get a job. He also allegedly claimed U.S. citizenship in 2005 and 2010, and re-entered the U.S. in 2010 after he was deported as a felon.

Carlos Cano-Lopez, 36, Tecumseh, is charged with illegal re-entry into the U.S. on or about Sept. 1, after being deported after a conviction for aggravated felony.

Carlos Ponce, 24, Lincoln, is charged with possession with intent to distribute 5 grams or more of methamphetamine in July.

Javier Santiago-Carbajal, aka Armando, 29, Norfolk, Jose Esteban Hernandez-Villalba, 29, Crete, Ramon Macias-Espinoza, 25, and Juan Pablo Mancillas-Ramirez, 25, both Omaha, are charged with conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams of methamphetamine.
