At least 20 suspected illegal immigrants were detained when their boat came ashore in Mission Beach early Monday.
SAN DIEGO — At least 20 suspected illegal immigrants who had just come ashore in Mission Beach were arrested early Monday. Authorities took the people into custody about 2:30 a.m. near Ocean Front Walk and Santa Barbara Place, KGTV Channel 10 reported.
The group, which included one woman, arrived on the beach in a small red panga, authorities said. One person in a van parked near San Luis Obispo Place was also arrested, according to KGTV.
Border Patrol Agents are investigating and are looking for two more people who may have also come ashore on the boat.
