Predictably, Republicans bashed President Obama's budget, the details of which were submitted on Thursday.

But Democrats, too, are questioning some of the $17 billion or so in cuts. And so are Democratic-leaning advocacy groups.

Add to that list today the National Council of La Raza, the largest national civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, which joined Republicans in noting that some of the proposed trims were unsuccessfully pushed by former President Bush, but from a different political perspective.

“What we have seen so far with the budget is discouraging and suggests that some of the key priorities of the Latino community are not those of the administration. I am very surprised that the Obama administration in its first budget would mirror similar cuts made by the Bush administration,â€

I don't think taxpayers should fund any kind of discrimination, especially by the super-ethnic La Raza--we demand that you pay our bills for the benefit of a small segment of the population that is here legally. IMO, the majority of the Hispanics in this country seem to be here illegally these days, and the illegals for no other reasons than to see what they can get--public assistance for anchor babies and working without permission to be able to send money out of the US. Assimilation is stupid as they get what they want and taxpayers provide the translators.
I just don't understand why hard-working Americans are always on the short end of the stick.
I cannot express what I think of LaRaza.

DUGH!!!!!! Not many care about what just the Latino's want......there's more people here than Latino's. There's issues here that go far beyond what just the Latino community wants. Which boils down to, make our criminals legals, give us everything we demand, hold jobs and special favors just for the Latino community......gimmie, gimmie, gimmie.

If you don't like it move your a** back to your home country!

....there should be no racial/ethnic preferences for the granting of taxpayer funds to organizations like La RAZA, MALDEF, LULAC and any self-identified race-based or ethnic-based group.....NO MAS!

Education is for all, housing is for all..all these issues apply to all U.S. citizens...let's call out LA RAZA for what it really is...the Hispanic, illegal alien advocacy ACORN.

They should take all of those millions that the govt gives them and pay for the illegals themselves.
