(KTNV) - A six-day raid by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement resulted in 235 arrests in four states, including 89 in Nevada.

All of the foreign nationals targeted by the Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in Nevada during last week’s enforcement action had prior criminal convictions. Many had criminal histories that included convictions for serious or violent offenses, such as child sex crimes and drug violations. The other arrest targets had past convictions for significant or multiple misdemeanors, including driving under the influence and larceny.

The Nevada arrestees included foreign nationals from nine countries -- Mexico (75), El Salvador (5), Guatemala (2), Honduras (2), Canada (1), Colombia (1), Cuba (1), Jordan (1) and Vietnam (1).

Among them was a 55-year-old Mexican national taken into custody Oct. 25 in Las Vegas who was convicted earlier this year of lewdness with a minor. Officers also arrested a 34-year-old Vietnamese national Oct. 23 who has a prior conviction for sexual coercion and statutory sexual seduction.

Both men remain in Immigrations and Customs Enforcement custody at this time pending the outcome of removal proceedings before an immigration judge.
