MORRISTOWN (WATE) -- The owners of Garcia Labor have pleaded not guilty to charges that they hired more than 1,000 illegal immigrants in Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio.

In the 37-page indictment, Maximino Garcia, President and Co-Owner of the company, his sister and former Vice President Dominga McCarroll and Human Resources Director Gina Luciano are all named.

The allegations are that Garcia Labor was involved in a large scale illegal alien employment and money laundering scheme.

The U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Ohio says the company provided 1,000 illegal workers to a national air cargo firm in Wilmington, Ohio.

The company's web site states they also contract workers for janitorial services, landscaping, food services and housekeeping.

According to the indictment, Garcia Labor and the defendants knowingly employed illegal aliens and provided them as contract workers.

The indictment also notes that Maximino Garcia provided rental housing at two apartment buildings in Wilmington to house the illegal aliens he employed.

All the workers have now been terminated.

Immigration Enforcement officer Matthew Albence says more charges may be filed against others at a later date.

Garcia and McCarroll are also accused of laundering $12 million of the proceeds used for harboring, transporting and inducing aliens to reside and remain in the United States illegally.

Hamblen County records indicate the Garcias own 39 pieces of properties in the area, including an office in Knoxville that is also called Garcia Labor.
