31 detained in immigration raid at Dallas factory

About 31 women were detained Thursday morning in an immigration raid that took place at a service center for Fossil Inc. in Far Northeast Dallas.

10600 block of Sanden Drive, Dallas The raid took place around 11 a.m. at the factory located in the 10600 block of Sanden Drive, near the intersection of Plano and West Miller roads. Multiple vehicles were seen parked around the building.

Dozens of people who said they were family members of the workers were outside the factory Thursday afternoon, trying to find out the whereabouts of their relatives.

According to John Chakwin, special agent in charge for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 20 of the women who were detained were Mexican, three were Salvadoran, seven were from Honduras and one was from Nicaragua.

Authorities interviewed a total of 63 female workers in the factory, which does repair work on Fossil watches and other products.
