(09-06) 04:00 PDT Sacramento -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger congratulated Mexican President-elect Felipe Calderon in a telephone call Tuesday and announced he would travel to Mexico in November, the governor's office said.

Schwarzenegger, who canceled a trip to Mexico scheduled for August after the presidential election dispute there, will visit Mexico Nov. 9 and 10 -- leaving just two days after Californians will vote on whether to give him another term. The trip will mark the governor's first trade mission to Mexico, after visiting Japan and China.

Schwarzenegger's aides said he spoke for about five minutes with Calderon on Tuesday, and the two discussed working together on trade and immigration issues.

"Mexico's economy is on the upswing, which is mutually beneficial to trade in California,'' Schwarzenegger said. "I look forward to visiting (outgoing) President Fox and President-elect Calderon in November to discuss efforts to increase our robust trade relationship.''

Schwarzenegger plans to visit Mexico City and the city of Monterrey.
