5 Billion Spent Deporting Illegals in 2010

Ever wonder how much it costs to deport an illegal immigrant?

    Now we know: $12,500.

That estimate — the cost for arresting, detaining and deporting someone from the U.S. — comes from Immigration and Customs Enforcement deputy director Kumar Kibble.

Migrants rights activists protest outside the U.S. Embassy on the second anniversary of President Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration in Mexico City, on Jan. 20. Protesters said the administration has failed to address immigration promptly. Deportations of illegal migrants from the U.S. reached a record 393,000 in the 2010 fiscal year

Kibble offered up the cost Wednesday during the the first hearing of an immigration subcommittee under Republican leadership.

The hearing on Wednesday was titled “ICE Worksite Enforcement – Up to the Job?â€

i write and write and write my state reps and governor plus US reps and president constantly about the illegal immigrant problem

it also costs $28000 per year to house a prisoner...multiply that by all the violent illegals. We are spending a fortune on them

If we had a strong President who would take a stand like past presidents die during hard economic times...the president should give a speech and tell them to leave the country that we are embarking on stricter measures.

There are several laws that need to be repealed...kennedy's immigration act i believe of 1986, Bill clintons federal voter registration act that forbids local election boards from verifying US citizenship or requiring it to register...also the dept of Education law that states from k - 12 no schools may forbid education to an illegal nor may they inquire about proof of citizenship.

we are in some serious trouble if the rates of legal immigration continue to grow due to worker visa abuses by employers.

The billions that we waste financially supporting, housing, feeding, arresting, jailing and deportations does nothing but continually add to the deficit. At what point does the insanity end?

Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986
Romano L. Mazzoli was a Democratic representative from Kentucky and Alan K. Simpson was a Republican senator from Wyoming who chaired their respective immigration subcommittees in Congress . . .

The first Simpson-Mazzoli Bill was reported out of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees. The bill failed to be received by the House . . .

The second Simpson-Mazzoli Bill finally passed both houses in 1985 . . .

The act was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan . . .

And to think someone could have made 30 to 300K jobs? Soo sad
You cannot dedicate yourself to America unless you become in every
respect and with every purpose of your will thoroughly Americans. You
cannot become thoroughly Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. President Woodrow Wilson
