58 People Detained At Fort Bragg

FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- A joint effort of Fort Bragg officials and U.S. immigration and customs enforcement agents has led to the detention of 58 persons with allegedly false or fraudulently obtained identification.
"Today's operation was part of our ongoing force protection measures," said Tom McCollum, of Fort Bragg's Public Affairs Office. "The operation went very smoothly. There were no incidents or accidents."
Officials said the vast majority of the detainees were construction workers. They were detained at the access control points.
In addition, four individuals were arrested on drug possession charges and 14 vehicles were impounded.
Persons with false or fraudulently obtained identification attempting to enter Fort Bragg can be cited for a variety of infractions. If it is shown that employers knowingly hired these people, the employer can be cited with aiding and abetting and or conspiracy charges.
Other agencies assisting in the operation included U.S. Marshals, Defense Criminal Investigation Service, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office in Raleigh. In the past year, Fort Bragg officials have detained more than 150 persons attempting to gain access under false pretenses.

    Illegals on Ft Bragg

It really makes you feel secure during a war on terror with one of our staunchest allies at war with Hezbollah, and our borders wide open that illegal aliens using illegal drugs and fraudulent documentation are allowed free and unfettered access to military installations. I have to present a valid military id and vehicle stickers to enter a DOD installation. I guess the administraton doesnt care if these illegal aliens could be Hezbollah sympathizers and pose a danger to military personnel and critical DOD resources used to fight the war on terror.
