Seven illegal immigrants were caught before they could make themselves at home.

On Tuesday afternoon, Albertville Police got a call about suspicious activity at K-Mart.

Several men were seen hanging out in a Ford van in the parking lot.

When police arrived, they discovered seven illegal immigrants, who were looking to make Marshall County home.

Police say their journey from Mexico started over a week ago.

Just how many were originally with the group is unclear.

Police say the person who called about the suspicious activity saw several vehicles pull up to the van, and pick up others who may also have been illegal immigrants.

"There had already been three of four vehicles pull up to this van and leave. And that was what got their attention. And of course, they called the police," says Sgt. Jamie Smith.

The illegal immigrants and the driver of the van were handed over to the Immigration and Naturalization Services.
