70-mile Ariz. chase ends after shot fired

by Associated Press
Federal agents chased five men in a vehicle on Arizona freeways for 70 miles from Sasabe to Tucson on Tuesday before finally arresting him.
U.S. Border Patrol Agent Mario Escalante says the chase began at 9 a.m. when the driver tried to run over a U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service agent who had stopped him for speeding near Sasabe.
The driver fled and the agent began the chase, which was later joined by Border Patrol agents and a helicopter.
After 70 miles in Tucson, Escalante says the driver tried to run over a Border Patrol agent, who fired one shot. No one was hit.
The driver, a U.S. citizen, and four men with him were arrested. The passengers are illegal immigrants.
They could all face charges of assaulting a federal agent.

Add attempted murder to those charges!
Those agents NEVER know what they are going to run into when they pull someone over, an attempted murder charge is OWED to those agents.

This happened not far from me. It ended near an intersection I go through often. I predict even though there was more than one case of attempted murder involved and all the resources that went into capturing them, the Feds will not prosecute and will send them back quickly (deport) with out any penalty.
