EDINBURG, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley apprehended 76 undocumented immigrants at a stash house Monday night in Edinburg.

According to a news release, the immigrants were reported to be in good health.

Twenty-two of them were from Honduras, 18 from Mexico, 17 from Guatemala and El Salvador and two from Ecuador.

They were transported to the Weslaco Border Patrol station for processing.

The Hidalgo County Constables Office and information obtained from interviews led agents to the stash house.

NEAR MISSION — U.S. Border Patrol agents said they found 68 immigrants suspected of being in the country illegally hiding at an apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.

Agents discovered 68 people, including women and children, in separate rooms inside the complex in the 6800 block of Bentsen Palm Drive about 2 p.m., Border Patrol spokesman Oscar Saldaña said.

Tuesday’s bust was at least the second in less than 24 hours where agents found dozens of people being kept by smugglers.

On Monday night, agents also found another 76 immigrants believed to be in the country illegally at a stash house in Edinburg.

“If we have actionable intelligence we’re going to take action, we follow every tip that we have,” Saldaña said.
