LA Mayor: Bridges not walls on border with Mexico

MEXICO CITY -- Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa says politicians in the United States should focus on building bridges instead of walls on the U.S. border with Mexico.

Villaraigosa says Los Angeles has greatly benefited from the cultural diversity of its residents. He says there are people from 37 different countries living there and that most Latinos in Los Angeles are of Mexican heritage.

"We should focus on what we have in common instead of focusing on our differences," Villaraigosa, who is of Mexican heritage, said Monday after a meeting with Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard.

Before traveling to Mexico City, Villaraigosa attended the opening for Guadalajara city's International Book Fair where Los Angeles was the featured city this year.

Oh yeah and don't forget...his famous line..."WE CLEAN YOUR TOILETS!!" He was all caught up, deeply identifying himself with illegal aliens, maybe there's something behind all that simpatico rhetoric, like he himself may be illegal or else his parents are.

Antonio Villaraigosa, Mayor of Los Angeles, said yesterday, Saturday, that American politicians who currently talk about fences between the United States and Latin America ought to talk about bridges and doors to resolve the problems of both sides of the border.

At the opening of the International Book Fair in Guadalajara, whose special guest is the city of Los Angeles, Villaraigosa pointed out, “In these times when so many North American politicians speak about walls we ought to be talking about bridges, doors, communication, cultural interchange to try to resolve the problems that we have on both sides of the border.â€

Not much "diversity" if most latinos in CA are from mexico, now is it? He contradicts himself. ALL immigration from mexico should be stopped, let people from other countries have a chance to legally emigrate here.

That's rich! How has Los Angeles benefited from being ground zero for this massive illegal invasion from south of our border! Gangs, crime, poverty, not being able to hear a word of English spoken in some parts of LA. Those are benefits?

Besides, anyone who has been to LA knows there is not much diversity taking place there, unless that is, your definition of diversity is an overwhelming hispanic populace from mexico, as Villaraigosa readily admits!
