Administration moves slowly in many areas

It didn't surprise me how slowly our government responded to the problems in New Orleans. It moves slowly on matters of this kind, but when it came time to move fast, it did just that by going to war in Iraq.

The president gave up two days of vacation to the problems of the flooding. Vice President Cheney was busy closing a deal on a new $2.5 million home. Cheney finally found time to tour the flood site. Up until then, I had not read or heard about him. It's as if he doesn't exist.

This administration moves slowly in many areas. It still can't find a way to stop illegal immigrants from entering our borders. The militia that was formed slowed the entry of these immigrants and was never congratulated by the administration for a job well done.

It fired Brown, head of FEMA, yet the cat who suggested we use duct tape to seal off our homes in case of chemical attacks by Iraq was allowed to frighten Americans and stay on the job.

Our borders can somewhat be guarded by using razor wire. It might not stop it completely, but surely it would slow down the crossings.

Since Hurricane Katrina victims are Americans, why not ship a lot of them to the border states, giving them jobs as border guards and picking crops?

If we are to help them financially, let them earn their keep. Since most of them had no jobs, they might be glad to be able to better themselves.
