A Los Fresnos woman accused of illegal immigrants off Boca Chica Beach faced a judge on Monday morning.

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested Jennifer Lee Rivera on illegal immigrant smuggling charges on Saturday.

Court records show that authorities used security cameras to spot seven immigrants headed north from the mouth of the Rio Grande River.

The immigrants allegedly got into Rivera’s car.

Border Patrol agents stopped the car but the immigrants bailed out.

Authorities were able to catch three of them in the brush.

Rivera allegedly told Border Patrol agents that she was supposed to get paid $40 per immigrant to drive them.

The Los Fresnos woman appeared in Brownsville before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald Morgan on Monday morning.

Judge Morgan ordered that Rivera remain in custody until a Thursday afternoon hearing.

Court records show that two of the immigrants are being held as witnesses against Rivera.
