Romney stresses free trade on Seattle campaign stop

SEATTLE (Map, News) - Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is stressing free trade as he campaigns today in Seattle.

His campaign issued a statement noting that Boeing and Microsoft exports make Washington one of the biggest-trading states in the nation.

In the statement, Romney says the people of Washington state should reject what he calls the "Democrats' policies of retreat from the world."

Romney says the president needs "trade promotion authority" and he says he has the business experience to negotiate global trade deals.

I caught a reference to Romney's campaign stop here in our area, and the report on the regional news (NWCN.com), pitched it as:

'One of the first things Romney will do after arriving, is to go to Bellevue and visit Microsoft'

Not smart Romney, not smart at all.

He's done. Stick a fork in him.

His campaign issued a statement noting that Boeing and Microsoft exports make Washington one of the biggest-trading states in the nation.

And we all know that Boeing and Microsoft are top offshorers of American jobs.

And Bill Gates and his lobbyists are constantly pushing to import more H-1Bs to replace American tech workers.
