Advocates Train Illegals in the Wake of Customs Raids

An immigrant-rights group is training illegals on how to behave during a federal raid.

Massachusetts-based Centro Presente produced a DVD telling immigrants to keep their mouths shut and demand to see a warrant. Other groups are using the film to conduct seminars.

Curtis Collier with U.S. Border Watch says this is all part of a developing pattern. "It's Mexican trucks one day ... it's hiding someone in a church in Chicago the next day. It's just another one of the weapons that they're deploying for the sole purpose of opening up the borders of this nation."

He can't believe people are being trained to not cooperate with authorities.

"I think any law-abiding citizen that looks through the peep hole of their door, and they see a law-enforcement officer knocking on their door, is going to open the door. If you have nothing to hide, why not open your door and see what the guy wants. If he has a warrant for you, he's not going to wait for you to open the door anyway; he's going to kick the door down. So, why would you not cooperate?"

Federal officials say the group may be undermining U.S. law, but the ACLU calls it a free speech issue. Calls to the Centro Presente were not returned.
