After confusing start, Latino activists ready to march
Starting point moves after Catholic Church distances itself from community walk

Latino activists in Columbia County are hoping a controversial start won’t keep people away from tonight’s community march in St. Helens.
The Procession for Respect and Dignity march, intended to raise awareness of Columbia County’s thriving Latino community, starts at 4 p.m. tonight, Wednesday Feb. 18, in the First Christian Church parking lot, 185 S. 12th St., St Helens.
[b]The march’s original starting point was next door, at the St. Frederic Catholic Church, but changed suddenly after people called the local Catholic church to complain.
