Agents Find Immigrants Hidden in Chartered Bus

Customs and Border Patrol agents found eight people, including five children, hidden in the engine/baggage compartment of two chartered buses.

The buses were stopped at the Sarita checkpoint on Monday morning for an inspection. A canine alerted agents to the engine compartment.

When agents opened the side doors they found the illegal immigrants hidden in the baggage compartment.

Agents say the immigrants were hidden in a compartment next to the engine and exhaust system, which emitted extreme heat and strong exhaust fumes.

None of the immigrants, who are all from Mexico, were hurt or required medical care. Agents arrested three adults and five children ages 8 through 14.

The drivers, one from San Juan and the other from Mission, detained and questioned.

I realize Rome wasn't built in a day, but this catching 8 here and 5 there isn't going to work. We have to shut off their reasons for wanting to come here. Patience is not one of my strongest virtues - let's start sending some employers to prison!
