Aide: Romney to review Obama executive actions

Aide: Romney to review Obama executive actions

An aide to Mitt Romney says the Republican candidate would review all of President Obama's executive actions if he replaces him after the November election.

That includes Obama's new policy against the deportation of the children of illegal immigrants, a decision that has roiled the Obama-Romney race.

"All of these are subject to review and repeal," said Romney senior adviser Ed Gillespie today on CNN's State of the Union.

Gillespie also said: "Between now and November, it is clear that the Oval Office is an extension of the Chicago campaign headquarters, and they will make a lot of political moves and there are a lot of other target demographics that the president will try to appeal to with executive actions."

Obama's campaign aides say Romney is using the idea of a blanket review to avoid taking a position on the new immigration policy.

As both campaigns seek to reach the growing Hispanic electorate, Obama's campaign is stressing Romney's opposition to the so-called DREAM Act, designed to provide a path to citizenship for children of illegal immigrants who attend college or serve in the military.

In a statement, the Obama campaign said Gillespie "still refused to give a clear answer on what Mitt Romney would do with these young people if elected. As Romney's evasiveness continues, Americans must take Mitt Romney at his word that he considers the DREAM Act a 'handout' and would veto it."

This is completely LAME! It is highly disturbing that Mitt Romney is not coming out against that unlawful Obama order.

I certainly agree with you William, not even a time frame provided. Reviewed but not decided, just placed aside for the next election, 2016 debates?
