2012-05-10 DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- A man is facing several felony charges after deputies say they seized thousands of items of merchandise they suspect is counterfeit.

Houston County sheriff's officials tell The Dothan Eagle that deputies arrested 40-year-old Idrissa Gory of Maurtania, West Africa, and charged him with four felony charges involving the possession of counterfeit merchandise.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes said Gory was arrested during a traffic stop on U.S. 231 South on Sunday. He said investigators seized 1,829 DVD movies, 4,919 music CDs, 531 pairs of counterfeit tennis shoes and 41 handbags.

The sheriff said he had been selling items at local flea markets.

It wasn't known Thursday morning whether Gory has an attorney. He was being held in jail on $30,000 bail.
