HPD cracking down on criminal aliens

Citizens of foreign countries who find themselves arrested in Hartselle will now have their name sent to their home country’s consular’s office and have their name entered into the National Crime Information Center to find out if they are wanted outside the US.

Hartselle Police Chief Ron Puckett said the policy has been in place for about two months.


“If we believe the person we arrested is not a citizen, we’ve set up a policy to do our best to notify the consular and find out if they are wanted in other countries,â€
