ALBERTVILLE, AL — An immigration forum inside the City Hall chambers here this afternoon drew an overflow crowd to hear two-term U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions.

Sessions, R-Ala., a leading advocate for improving border security and restoring lawfulness to the immigration system, shared his thoughts on steps the United States should take to secure its borders, reduce illegal immigration and create an immigration system that serves the long-term national interest.

The crowd included politicians and public safety officials from Marshall County, including state Sen. Hinton Mitchem, D-Ala., and state Reps. Frank McDaniel, D-Albertville, and Jeff McLaughlin, D-Guntersville. Most of the 125 to 150 in attendance were white senior citizens, including some who vented their frustrations at the growing immigration problem in Marshall County.

Sessions addressed the “frustration because of us in Washington. We haven’t made the system work,â€

That's good that this was overflowing. The issue has not died. The OBL's would like to think so but it hasn't. I just love Jeff Sessions.

What on earth is this writer tyring to convey? That the 80% of Americans who are against illegal immigration are all "white"? Bull crap.

[quote]Legislation that has been enacted, Sessions said, has resulted in a 20 percent drop in arrests in the last calendar year. “People (illegal immigrants) are beginning to get the message,â€

Jeff Sessions is a straight-talking congressman, and I hope the people of Alabama will keep him in office. We need more of those types throughout the country.

Sessions said there are 12,000 ICE officers and 600,000 local law enforcement personnel.
Can you IMAGINE how much more illegal immigration can be reduced if there were 612,000 enforcement officers out there catching illegal aliens?!?! Put in more judges, speed up their due process and ship the illegals the hell out! States need to be given the authority to enforce the laws!

That's why it's imperative that local law enforcement officials be directed to aid in this battle. It's unconsciable that any police officer/agency would come across an illegal invader during the course of their duties and let them go! If you pull over someone and they do not have a valid license, probably cause allows you to take that investigation further! Every police agency across this country needs to treat illegal immigration like the crime it is.

That has to stop! Being in this country illegally is a crime!!
