ST. CLAIR COUNTY — Two Hispanic brothers arrested last week for trafficking 42 pounds of marijuana valued at $42,000 remain in the St. Clair County Jail with no bond.
Luis Alfredo Nunez, 25, and his brother, Diego Armando Nunez, 21, who both live at 119 Myers Lane, Odenville, were taken into custody Tuesday, Nov 4, after being charged with trafficking in cannabis. One brother remains in the Ashville County Jail, while the other is in jail in Pell City. They are being held without bond because both are considered flight risks.

St. Clair County Sheriff Terry Surles said both men are illegal aliens.

Sheriff’s Department Chief investigator Joe Sweatt said the marijuana was shipped via Federal Express from Texas. It had been shrink-wrapped in eight smaller bundles and then the eight bundles were neatly stacked and placed into one huge box.
