Residents here are tired of illegals overrunning their schools, keeping American children from receiving the best education. (And when people feel their children are suffering, well, look out.)

Residents here are tired of waiting in line at the emergency room behind illegals who are receiving care at taxpayers’ expense, while they struggle to pay insurance and deductibles.

Residents here are tired of standing in line behind illegals with food stamps, while they work overtime just to put milk on the fridge.

I’m not saying all Hispanics are illegal, of course, but there is a palpable resentment by many in Albertville toward the Hispanic community. Call it guilt by association. It’s not fair, but that doesn’t make it any less true.
