NC :Man hoped hold-ups would earn deportation
Man hoped hold-ups would earn deportation
Wilmington, N.C. — The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office says that a man twice held a store clerk up at gunpoint Friday evening in hopes of getting deported to Mexico.
A clerk at the Scotchman #181 store called authorities around 5 p.m., saying that a man had tried to rob the store at 5302 Carolina Beach Road a half-hour earlier, Deputy Charles G. Smith said in a release. The man displayed a gun but left the store on foot without taking money or harming the clerk.
Deputies searched the area but did not find anyone matching the suspect description.
About three hours later, deputies rushed to the store again after getting a hold-up alarm, Smith said. When they arrived, a man was pointing a gun at the clerk.
While deputies and Wilmington police officers positioned themselves around the store, the gunman left the store, still holding the clerk at gunpoint. Smith said that deputies were able to disarm and apprehend the man without incident.
Investigators said they learned that the man refused to take any money from the clerk and wanted to get deported to Mexico.
Deputies identified the alleged gunman as Jose Luis Medina-Ruiz, 37, of Wilmington. They charged him with attempted robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and two counts each of second-degree kidnapping and hoax by false bomb or other device.
Medina-Ruiz remained in the New Hanover County Detention Center under a $135,000 secured bond Saturday afternoon. (i'M SURE WE CAN HELP HIM ON HIS WAY

Isn't is a felony for an immigrant to have a gun?

I just hope this doesn't become the normal for the illegals not affording the ride home. And then how many are willing to take what they can get from the store to feed the anchor babies and pack some munchies to get to the border? This is the most horrific thing I have heard and I worry that this kind of ploy is not going to be all the rage in the illegal community.

Illegals 'know' the laws of this country! The fact is, they simply don't care about our laws because they are rarely held accountable for anything they do. It starts the moment they set foot in this country with little or no resistence from our government!
The perception is further created when they can steal and or purchase fradulent identification in order to obtain jobs in this country - with a government that REFUSES to enact laws which would prevent them from doing so ( E-Verify)!
That creates the perception in their mind ( remember, we are dealing with those who have probably, on average, a 6th grade education) that our laws do not pertain to them. Not to mention the numerous groups that advocate on behalf of illegal invaders in this country ( including their own mexican government who is politically active in this country). They begin to feel invincible in this country.
In fact, I would bet these invaders don't commit these crimes in their beloved mexico. Why? Because they actually have respect for their sacred mexico and perhaps a little fear of so called "mexican law."Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Cant we print posters in spanish with the number for ICE? Maybe little business cards that can be left at the tienda's? Free trips back and they dont even have to give their real names. This is the second story this week about an illegal committing a crime so they could get deported...
