ALIPAC: AP poll re: amnesty at odds with reality
ALIPAC: AP poll re: amnesty at odds with reality

Monday, January 28, 2013
An immigration enforcement activist doesn't believe a new poll that shows a majority of Americans now favor amnesty for illegal aliens.
According to the Associated Press-GfK poll, more than 60 percent of Americans now favor a pathway to citizenship for the illegal immigrants already in the country. That is a significantly higher number than last time the AP polled on the question -- in 2010, just 50 percent supported the idea.
The poll claims the turnaround has excelled as Republicans change their views. A majority in the GOP -- 53 percent -- now reportedly favor allowing illegal aliens a path to citizenship. That is up 22 percentage points from 2010.
William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC), contends the AP poll is extremely biased.
"The Associated Press is renowned [for being] in favor of the pro-illegal immigration camp, and so their poll has no credibility," he asserts, "especially considering the numerous scientific and certified polls we have … that show approximately 66 percent of Americans oppose any path to citizenship for illegal immigrants; 33 [percent] support."
Gheen further argues that the AP coverage of stories dealing with illegal immigration accentuates its bias.
"We read whole AP articles where the anti-illegal immigration viewpoint is excluded, or buried or twisted," he accounts. "We've watched the Associated Press try to hide criminal illegal alien atrocities and murders and play those down."
The ALIPAC president asserts that the American people continue to oppose amnesty for illegal aliens by a 2-1 margin.

Bill O'Reilly interviewed Karl Rove tonight and put up a poll saying 67% of Americans favor a 'path to citizenship' for the millions of illegal aliens now living here.

I saw that, Fox News is claiming they paid for a poll and it makes the false claim of 66 or 67% support.

Mark Levin talked about these types of flawed polls on his show tonight, which all depend on what and how the question is asked.
For example, perhaps Rove would like to conduct a poll with this question: Do you believe illegal aliens should qualify for ObamaCare? (which is what some special interest groups are pushing)
OR Should the law be changed to give legal status/amnesty to those who have entered the United States illegally, or should we enforce the laws on the books?
