ALIPAC: Napolitano must go

Janet Napolitano (Dept. of Homeland Security)The head of a grassroots immigration reform organization is again calling for the resignation of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

As previously reported on OneNewsNow, Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) called for the resignation of Napolitano after a hijacker attempted to bomb a U.S. airliner on Christmas Day 2009. But only a day following her claims that the security system was effective, Napolitano argued that her words had been taken out of context, and in her clarifying comment, she said that "our system did not work in this instance."

William Gheen (ALIPAC)So William Gheen, president of ALIPAC, is planning to renew his call for Napolitano's resignation or dismissal this year "for...abjectly failing in the application of her job to secure our borders and enforce our existing immigration laws, and...for focusing the Department of Homeland Security on efforts to demonize Americans because of their conservative politics as domestic threats instead of focusing on the real problems facing the country, such as the bomber that tried to fly in last Christmas, the illegals that are streaming across the border, [and] the thousands of Americans being killed by illegal immigrants each year."

He adds that Napolitano's New Year's Eve jaunt to Afghanistan, during which she advised Afghans on border security, also demonstrates that the DHS secretary is doing everything but her primary mission, which is to keep Americans safe from illegal immigrants who want to do them harm.
