Immigrants rally for dreams

BOLINGBROOK—Commuters might have noticed a white, 15-passneger van June 17 as it traveled along Interstate 55. Although the logo on the side of the van included the words Casa Jesus and the Archdiocese of Chicago, it did little to reveal the story behind the people inside. The passengers that were temporarily being housed by the Archdiocese of Chicago hailed from various backgrounds and hometowns but believed in one common goal, the American dream.

Their journey across the country to dispel myths, give facts and share personal stories about the need for immigration reform brought them to St. Dominic Parish in Bolingbrook, just one stop on the 8-day Dreams Across America Tour. Calling themselves “dreamers,â€
